Get Crafty!

Pinterest! How do I love thee? Let me count the ways....♥

I actually visited the Pinterest 'About Us' page yesterday & clicked on 'Careers.' Too bad all jobs are in SFO. I wish I could get paid for visiting Pinterest all day long. Seriously, the things I have learned from this site have been wonderful!☺

This is the cutest craft I have seen all week. The one I found on Pinterest had bunnies glued to the top, but I only found farm animals at Michael's (& on clearance too!).
I 'super glued' the animals to the jar lids.

Look at this! A teeny tiny spray paint can!
Thank you, Krylon! Pure Genius!

These had to be sprayed a total of 3 times to get good coverage.
A few of the animals/lids needed an extra touch up as well.

Filled with Whopper Bird Eggs.
Rolo Candies
*(which were promptly removed & made into Ritz/Rolo cookies).
I think these turned out super cute!
Omid, not so much. He couldn't see the point.☺
Start saving your glass jars if you want to make these. All in all, this craft was about $10 (for the spray paint/plastic animals - both purchased from Michael's).

Make This!!

Ritz Cracker/Rolo Cookies!

These cookies take 10 minutes max (including unwrapping the Rolo candies).
Preheat oven to 250*.
Place one sleeve of Ritz Crackers on a baking sheet. Put an unwrapped Rolo candy on each cracker.

Bake for 6 minutes (NO MORE, NO LESS), remove from the oven & cover the Rolo with another Ritz Cracker (press down gently!).

I dare you to eat just one!

Make This!!

Whipped Feta Cheese!

I saw this recipe via a link on Shutterbean's I Love Lists, Friday.   Once I saw the recipe link for whipped feta, I knew I had to make this cheese for Omid (as he absolutely loves feta).

The recipe is very simple with only two ingredients. Cream cheese & feta cheese.
The cast of characters.

Omid's favorite brand of feta cheese.

The process was so easy & took just minutes.
Does this look like popcorn to you? It does to me....
I crumbled the feta & pulsed it in the food processor until it was in tiny crumbs (about a minute). Then I added in the cream cheese & pulsed it for a few minutes more until the mixture was creamy.
Voila!

I served the whipped feta with some roasted tomatoes, hard boiled eggs & pita bread.
Instant & easy lunch.

Yummers!
Whipped Feta by How Sweet It Is

8 oz feta cheese, crumbled and at room temperature
3 oz cream cheese, at room temperature

Add crumbled feta to a food processor & pulse until small crumbs remain. Add cream cheese & pulse for a few minutes more, scraping down the sides when necessary, until feta is super creamy.

*NOTE: I think this cheese spread would be delicious served with carrot & celery sticks!☺

Valentine's Day & Netflix These!

How was your Valentine's Day?

I gave Remy his valentine & he chewed it up & spit it out. That's okay, Remy. I still love you!♥

Here is a photo of us from 1989 & at last year's Apple Cup. I sent it to WSU for their "Love at WSU" piece they posted on Facebook for Valentine's Day. You can click the link here to read a bunch of stories on how couples met at WSU (you may have to scroll down a bit). Such a fun idea!

For Valentine's Day this year, Omid was so sweet & gave me a bottle of my favorite perfume, Prada Candy. Love it! It's a mixture of cotton candy & vanilla. Absolutely delicious! One of Omid's favorite shows, Swamp People, premiered last night, so we had plans to watch that.☺

We've had a particularly rough week, so I wanted to make Omid one of his favorite comfort foods: roasted turkey legs. On our past visits to Disneyland & DisneyWorld, one of Omid's first stops is at the turkey leg vendor. He loves those things!

Along with the turkey legs, we had The Pioneer Woman's Crash Hot Potatoes. YUM! I really should have made a double recipe, as those were gone in a flash. So good!

After Swamp People, we watched the movie, Win Win. It has an all star cast (Paul Giamatti, Amy Ryan, Jeffrey Tambor & Bobby Cannavale) and is directed by Thomas McCarthy, so we knew it had to be good.  Not only did we like this movie, We LOVED IT!

So far, we've liked everything directed by Thomas McCarthy. Especially The Station Agent & The Visitor & of course, UP. If you haven't seen these movies, add them to your Netflix queue. You will not be disappointed.

Netflix This!!

Have you seen Flight yet? Wow! What a great movie! I was on the edge of my seat the entire 2+ hours of this movie. So many unexpected twists & turns. Denzel Washington does not disappoint. Omid & I both loved this film.

Netflix this movie (unless you plan to fly anytime soon!).

Make This!!!!

Reese's Peanut Butter Cup Popcorn via Two Peas & Their Pod

I am so thankful for Pinterest! It has led me to so many new blogs with wonderful recipes & ideas. This is just the newest recipe I pinned at lunch today via Two Peas & Their Pod. Popcorn covered in a honey-peanut butter caramel, drizzled with melted chocolate & sprinkled with mini Reese's Peanut Butter Cups.

Matty & I rushed home from school so we could make this for an after school snack. It came together so quick & is really tasty.

Make this!! You won't be disappointed! Two Peas & Their Pod also has a recipe for a Twix Caramel Popcorn that I can't wait to try! Maybe I'll give it a shot later this week.☺
