Jeff's shirt (it refers to a 'dry rub' for meat)

champagne cocktails (not for me...I prefered the sangria)

the boys rockin to guitar hero.
We came home to this mess. Even though Remy had been 'sedated' with the maximum dose of acepromazine, he still managed to have enough energy/adrenaline to tear up his comforter. :(
We had to stuff cotton balls in his ears before he would calm down to sleep tonight. Prayers for Remy please!!

Happy 4th of July!!

Happy Birthday America!

Turn your speakers up loud, I've added some great songs to go with the fireworks pix!
More photos to come later today of a bbq we're attending with friends.

Sedated

Poor Remy!

He has not been the same dog since Sunday evening's thunder & lightning storms. He is constantly stressed & freaks out (FREAKS OUT!) at any noise. We have tried using meat & Rescue Remedy (homeopathic meds) for him, but neither are working.

I finally had to call the vet and get Remy some sedatives. He is now on Acepromazine until the fireworks have stopped. I did some research on the internet and Acepromazine is the human equivalent of Xanax. Interesting.

Rest well, Remy! I can't wait to have my dog back!!!
Omid, Matty & Papa returned from their annual fishing trip yesterday. They had a good time with only a few snafus. Here are the photos.

Heading out to fish.
Early morning laughs
Matty caught the first fish of the day.

The 2nd fish - it was dropped (hence the blood).

To Do Tattoos

I found these tattoos through the Not Martha site. I am always writing on my hands to remind of appointments, groceries, etc. I thought this was a cute idea. I just write all over my hand, this would at least keep the to do lists nice & neat.

Find them at: http://www.worldwidefred.com/home.htm.

Yogurt Cream

I read The Pioneer Woman's site daily She had this scrumptious sounding recipe on her blog yesterday for yogurt cream (I could not wait to make it). I sent my dad and Omid to the store for my supplies, while I made a fresh batch of TPW's Apricot Bars (we ate them for dessert tonight).

I just whipped up a batch of this yogurt creme and will let it sit overnight. My plan is to serve it at breakfast and hopefully use it for a filling for the crepes Nas & I bought yesterday. Then...if the yogurt cream is thick enough, I plan to use it for a tart filling. This batch is purely experimental. :)

The yogurt & the cream.

The Y & C mixed together.

The brown sugar sprinkled on top.

UPDATE (7/2/08 - 7:22 a.m.)
This is what I woke up to. The brown sugar all dissoved on top.

The brown sugar stirred in and the YC fantabulous. It is too runny to place into tart shells, so I will just pour it into glasses & sprinkle strawberries on top. Try it - you won't be disappointed.

Happy Birthday Remy!!!!

Today is Remy's 4th birthday!

Here is a walk down memory lane.

Remy...this is your life:

Remy is the baby in the orange/red collar. The kids & I went to visit when he was 3 weeks old. Isn't he sweet?

Remy at 8 weeks. This is the first day he was at our house.

Sleeping. Look at that fat tummy.

First day of school (3rd grade for Matty/6th grade for Nas). Remy is 10 weeks here.

First boat ride
Just one of many toys Remy has destroyed.
This was a bad habit that still continues. Remy cannot resist warm laundry fresh out of the dryer. We thought it was so cute when he was 15 pounds. Now that he's 50 pounds, it's a lot harder for him to fit in the laundry basket, but he tries his best.

Happy Birthday to our favorite dog!!!!!!!!!!!!
