Puffins Perfected!

I have been experimenting with 'mix-ins' to the Puffin recipe I posted last week. This morning I finally found the winning combination.☺  We tried bacon last weekend & it was just okay.  But maple flavored link sausage from Johnsonville made the puffins taste out of this world delicious!

 Don't be stingy with the sausage. You want a piece of sausage in every bite!☺

I used the entire package in this recipe with two exceptions: Matty & Remy each ate a whole link.
Finally....the perfect puffin.

Puffins (half recipe) - from The Lady with the Red Rocker
1 cup Bisquick
1/3 cup water
1/2 c maple syrup
1 egg
Mix all ingredients together, pour into muffin cups & bake at 350* for 12-13 minutes.
**NOTE: The puffins took 5 minutes longer to cook with the sausage added in.
