Stem Cell Donation

We have a friend who has been fighting Burkitt-like Non-Hodgkin's B Cell Lymphoma for a year now. In August, she found out she was in remission, only to find out in November her cancer had returned. What our friend needs now is a stem-cell transplant. Please consider signing up to be a donor. Here is a direct quote from our friend's husband and a link to learn about becoming a potential donor.

For a short time (first 10,000 to sign up) what normally is $52 is free. I think it is a shame that there is a cost barrier on this registry but for now it appears underfunded. The NMDP has a Mother’s Day Drive getting ready to launch 12:01 a.m. on May 5. You can click on the following link to enroll for free:http://www.marrow.org/HELP/Join_the_Donor_Registry/Join_Now_Special/TM/tm08_join_now.html

I signed up this morning. It took about 25 minutes to complete the form and was free. Please consider signing up to help someone you know or don't know. Cancer doesn't discriminate. You could be helping someone in your own family in the future.

Honestly, if I was 18, I would be first in line.
