Strange Conversations....

Earlier this afternoon, Remy and I were out in the front enjoying the sunshine. An elderly lady (whom I've never seen before) walked up to my fence and yelled, "Hey Remy! Hey Remy!" I was a bit concerned at first that she might be a dog napper (it happens!). Remy wasn't sure what to make of her either and he started barking at her.

I walked up to her, said hello and asked her how she "knew" Remy. She said her husband walks by every day with her grandson and had met Remy about a year ago. She then said she was "interested in meeting this Remy (emphasis on this)." Then...she told me that her daughter has a dog named Remy. She introduced herself and I did the same. When she heard my name was Erin, she sucked in her breath and said, "Oh! Oh!" I asked her if she was okay. She said, "Oh, Erin! You are not going to like this one bit!" I braced myself for I don't know what and waited for her to finish. She continued with her story and said she had a nephew named Aaron. Or used to. It seems he died 6 weeks ago. She said she was worried about our coincidences. My dog's name is Remy. Her daughter's dog is named Remi. Her dead nephew's name was Aaron. My name is Erin. I told her not to worry - I'm sure it was just that. A coincidence & besides...the spellings are all different.
Just then the bus came and she collected her grandson, said goodbye and was gone. Strange!
