Never Forget

Our district is doing something wonderful tonight. Tonight the HS is hosting Holocaust survivor, Alice Kerns. She will share her story about the Birkenau Death March and surviving the horrible Holocaust. I think this is wonderful as the Holocaust needs to be told again and again. I only wish the lecture was held during the day so ALL the high school kids could attend.

I do not understand the attitudes of some people. They are not willing to go because #1, it's too horrible and they can't subject themselves to listen to 2 hours of the unspeakable horror or #2, they want to protect their children from listening to the horrible story. WAKE UP PEOPLE!! This is the reason you NEED to go. Listen to this story and make sure your kids listen to the story. It needs to be told again and again (kids/young adults/old adults). The extermination of 6 million people should never be forgotten. Get outside your comfort zone! It's good for you!

I am proudly taking both of my kids to hear Alice Kerns story.

Never forget.

I know I will NEVER forget. I've been to Auschwitz and it changed my life. I think everyone should go there to get the full picture.
